(Someone greet PO Sani on Xyllomer and PO Lili on GEAS.)Īs for "achievements" hmmm. Xyllomer had some inspired from various sources, such as the Indiana Jones (only hopping from tile to tile that is) or parts of Dune (you had to rescue some atreides/freme or I think they are now called areedee or so, evidently to avoid the too-close reference to a movie).īoth MUDs had some excellent roleplayers too. I remember I did in 1995 or so but it kind of was lost. On Geas one fun one was Gustav the hamster mount for faeries or whatever it was. There are also many smaller quests, usual "fedex style" aka deliver this to that. Castle Xylina or whatever the name was pretty much fun - the storm being thingy in Atlantis. The Xyllomer quests are in many ways more unique many of which were written in the 1990s. But, if we ignore that, and focus on your requirement to quest - both MUDs have had quests. It would be very interesting to see the different interpretations of various things. So I expect I'll be running a parallel project with more detailed scenes. I originally thought I'd model houses for that model, but I get all too quickly caught up with details. Since I stopped playing MUDs several years ago I do not even know the current numbers either. Got me thinking modelling Discworld would be fun. Player base may be an issue Xyllomer had +60 players peak count in ~1998 or so, GEAS had +24 in 2010 and according to some even more before that, but also had a waning playerbase for various reasons. ![]() I think both Xyllomer and GEAS fit to some of that, or at the least used to fit.
